Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-12-29T18:24Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
Activity ID: 2024-12-29T18:24:00-CME-001 (version 2)
Source Location: S18E15
Active Region Number: 13939
Note Keyword:
Source Signature Keyword:
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
Morphology Keyword:
FS: Flux Rope and Shock Candidate
Note: Partial halo seen as a faint leading edge without much overflowing material behind the leading edge, seen to the south and southeast in SOHO LASCO and east-southeast in STEREO A COR2. Likely associated with an eruption from AR3939 near S18E15 seen as quickly breaking field lines near the active region seen best in GOES SUVI 131, 195, 284, 304. The attached WSA-Enlil+Cone simulation should not be interpreted as a forecast and is likely to overestimate geomagnetic impacts at Earth given that the measurement represents the faint shock associated with the CME, which does not contain much observed material behind the leading edge.

Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type |

Measurement of the faint shock front using triangulation between STEREO A and SOHO; simulation is likely to overestimate geomagnetic impacts at Earth given there is not much observed material behind the leading edge. |
